Golf Lessons that will Improve anyones game

Golf is a very tough and frustrating sport, even top pros like Tiger Woods are constantly getting golf lessons from their coaches to keep their game at a high level.  If you want to improve your golf game then the best solution would be to see your pro and get some golf lessons.  No matter what level your golf is you could always benefit from having them to keep your game on track or heading in a better direction.  Here on this  page I will give a few lessons which anyone can find useful.

  1. Basic Golf fundamentals and  Golf Setup

This is one of the most basic golf lessons where everyone should start out.  If you don't learn the golf basics first you will not be able to develop a sound golf swing.  A good golf swing stems from good basics. Here are the main points you should learn.
  • The grip

  • The stance

  • Alignment

  • Ball position

  • Posture

Those points above need to be mastered if you want to develop a good golf game.  There are three different ways to hold a golf club.  The overlapping, interlocking and baseball grip. To grip the golf club hold it in your left hand if you are right handed and a line it across your fingers to the bottom of your pinky.  Then fold your hand over it making a V with your finger and thumb.  The V should point between your right shoulder and head. Then place your right hand on the grip forming a V parallel to the other V.

The stance should be shoulder width for pretty much every shot.  As the clubs getter shorter you can make your stance slightly narrower.

Alignment

.  The best way to get perfect alignment is to lay down two clubs.  One pointing at the target and the other parallel to it.  This will give you perfect alignment.  To achieve this on the golf course.  Point your clubhead at the target and take your stance parallel to the target line.

Ball position

.  Your ball position will affect the trajectory of a golf ball.  For short and middle irons you want the ball to be in the middle of your stance.  For long irons you want it to be closer to your left foot and for woods you want the ball to be positioned just before your left foot.

Posture

.  Perfect posture should feel like your sitting on a chair.  You want to bend from the hips and you should feel relaxed.  The best thing to do is try to copy tiger woods posture or any other top pro.

2.

selecting the right equipment

This is another one of many basic golf lessons.  If clubs are not fitted correctly for you it will be much harder to play consistently and well.  To pick the right equipment you should speak to your pro he will recommend a few clubs for you.  Once you have those recommendations you should demo them to see which ones you like the most.  Once you have found the one you like the most you now need to get custom fit for it.  This will involve building the clubs to your specifications.  To do this just go to your nearest club fitter.

As you can see there are pretty much golf lessons for anything, the learning should never stop.  If you are interested in getting golf lessons I highly recommend starting them with your club pro.   Other golf lessons that you may want to ask for from him are course management lessons, short game, putting, bunker lessons, distance..... and the list goes on.
